today

So it was supposed to 6 miles but I overshot my distance and almost did 7. Not sure if I was ready to do it but I did. I did 6.71, burned over 600 calories in 1 hr 3 min. It was windy and warmer than I thought and I was battling my water belt but I got her done. I need to find more music and do another playlist.

On another note, my nike plus has been going crazing. It switched all my goals to a month out. It has recorded my run but not updated it on my goals and challenges. It is frustrating because 6 plus miles not showing up and the calories not showing up. It's aggravating.

Fail

So today after school, we were going to go for a walk to either walgreens to get some prescriptions filled or to the park. Either way it did not happen. I stupidly attached Juno's leash to the stroller. Can you guess where this is going. Yep, there was an accident. The older two kids took off running. The bag dropped out of the stroller. I bent to pick it up. and I hear screams of Harry because Juno had pulled the stroller onto its side. Yes and there ends the walk. Thankfully Harry was okay but crying crying crying. We got back inside and he settled down but I was done in after that. I will have to work at a better plan for next time. Like leash around my waist and not attached at all to the stroller.

On another note, I went to the chiropractor in prep for wednesday mornings run. Stretch out.

Today's day

So this morning I went for a run with Juno. It was 2.2 miles. It was a good run.

Then after picking Max up from school we went to the Wetlands park. It was great to get out. Max wanted to go. It was a nice 2.2 walk. Of course, the kids petered out at the end so I had to push them as well. They would take turns. Ugh a little pushing stroller, 23lber, and 38 to 42 lbers. Plus windy...

Dora

I did it, I did it, I did it hooray!  That is going through my mind right now. I am enjoying hitting each new milestone mileage. It feels so good to push my body. I am up to 5.31 miles today. Next week it will be 6 miles. Oh boy.

And my friend and I have taken up the challenge to run the half in December, not walk, run it. It should be a good time. I am excited by it. That is just one challenge. I need to make some more.

yesterday and today

So yesterday was just over a mile to and from the ballet studio while carrying the 23lber. Yes, he is a big boy.
My legs have been tired, tired so I took today off. It was supposed to be either a 3 or 4 mile day. I am hoping tomorrow I can do it.

Also, my lovely husband let me sleep in since he had to get up for work. It was nice to get an extra hour of sleep.

Food wise. I am doing pretty good still working on it. But then life is a work in progress so why should eating healthy be too.

How could I deny the dog?

Today wasn't a running day but Juno got so excited this morning when I went to my closet that I ended up getting into my running clothes because I didn't want to disappoint him.  We ran just under 2 miles and my pants weren't fitting comfortably which is a good thing. Even though the scale is moving slowly, my clothes are fitting me differently.

I feel like this is my secret blog since it seems to detail not only my fitness but some of my more personal thoughts.

I feel good about lent. I have this feeling like sugar is finally not having its hold on me like it did. Of course, I just traded one addiction for another. I have been eating yogurt like no other. I just figure that at least it is good for my health.

4 miles today

So it was actually 5 miles on Sunday not 4. I think I wrote 4 but it was 5. I was supposed to do 4 then and 5 today so I just reversed it. I thought I would get out for another mile today but it didn't happen. I think today was my down day. I just needed to sit for a bit today and not do an over amount of stuff.  But I didn't stretch well so I have to start doing that if I don't want my legs to kill me.

It bugs that I feel like I need to pee after like a half mile til the end. And it is starting to warm up which I am also not looking forward to. See when half the country isn't wanting to run because of the cold, I would rather be running here since it isn't that cold. But I am fearful of how I will do once the heat of summer hits. Ah well.

A nice Sunday

Yesterday, Maggie hopped on the walking train after complaining towards the end of the last walk. It was great. It was cold and windy but I enjoy connecting with the kids. It has been rutty lately. So it was nice to get out. We walked, jogged almost a mile before returning home. Then Juno and I were off. We ran over 4 miles. It feels so good to know that I can run that far and even that I could run.
Of course, I was so gungho on plugging in my info that I didn't stretch well and so my legs are sore. I didn't meet my cal goal of 4000 by today. 88 short so I extended it a week.

Hopefully today we will get another walk to and from Maggie's ballet.

yesterday

I got in 1.4 miles. I took the kids out after school and snack for  walk with the dog. I must look a sight with harry strapped to my back and the dog's leash strapped to my waist with the other kids running. They were dragging at about a mile but had no choice. I definitely think that I need to go walking with them more.

yogurt has been my saving grace through out lent. I figure what is good for burn notice is good for me. lol. It is easy to eat and dress up with a bit of granola or crackers and fruit. And it feels good to really cut out the fake sugars.

Now I just need to work on my portions. I need to not take more than one helping and use the smaller plate and I will probably have it conquered.

Last night's dinner was great. boneless pork chops pounded, breaded and pan fried in olive oil with some risotto and salad.

5 miles yesterday

That was what I was supposed to do instead it ended up being 1 at the end of the day and a slow one at that. I was loaded down with meat from our dinner at a friend's house. She made fantastic lamb, chicken, sausage and steak with some butternut squash and cole slaw. It was hard to stop eating. And it made it hard to move very quickly on the treadmill.

Today won't be much different. There was a lot of night waking between Harry and Krismon. Harry was up sometime after 3, I hesitate to change a diaper in the middle of the night. I am thinking that was the real problem because of his antibiotics. Krismon got called from work. And then Maggie came in at 5:48 announcing it was morning. She will need to be retrained that morning isn't just because the sun came up.

4 miles on Monday

I ran 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday. It was boring. I just don't run as fast as I do when I run outside. Then I strapped Harry on back, attached Juno to the leash around my waist and Max and I set off to pick Maggie up from ballet. So I got in 4 miles all told.
then krismon and I did Ab ripper x. It was tough but getting more doable.
Now I just need to get my appetite under control after those runs.

I did 5 miles!

Yes I did it. It was aggravating and annoying to have to pull on the dog but I did it. I ran the wrong way instead of having the dog run on the street side I had him run on the inside. That meant every little smell attracted his attention. ugh... I ran pretty fast but definitely not fast enough to keep Juno running at a pace that would keep his nose off the ground and bushes. It was great though to keep going and to feel that sense of accomplishment. Now tomorrow I will just need to do a short run to stretch my legs and work out the muscles.

I will say that it looks like my lent giver upper of sugar derivatives and most sugar things has been helpful. I have lost a few pounds and I am hoping to lose a few more before Easter. I think though I really will try to keep those fake sugars out of my diet and the kids diet as much as possible.

The day started with some raisin bran and milk and coffee with cream.
Then running
some gatorade in water two big bottles.
starving starving starving
more water with pb pretzels
sub sandwich from port o subs... yummy
pork and potatoes with rice
salad
grapes and cantalope
a glass of wine

That's the day....

My bummer of a week

I won't lie it has been a tough week or so. And I have probably totally used it as an excuse not to exercise or run since Monday. I don't want to totally derail myself over and over again. I am really hoping that I am not self sabotaging.

Whenever sleep gets off track then my whole energy shifts. I lose the desire to do much of anything outside of sit in front of the computer and tv. It's not what I want but it is what I do. Habits they are hard to kill and seem to be even harder to change and make.

The kids have been sick for weeks it seems. First Max and Harry then Max then Max and Maggie then Maggie and Harry. Maggie and Harry are not enjoying their antibiotics. I am hoping that Harry's fever will finally break so that we can have one worry down. I really try not to let all the flus worry me but it is hard not to have some of that fear seep in. I need to let it go. And I need to just publish this.

I am hoping that tomorrow will be a good running morning before I take Maggie to dance.

Failure

Yesterday was supposed to be a 5 mile day and I have the ea more scheduled as well. Neither happened. But I didn't eat the fake ice cream sandwiches that we have in the deep freeze or the real ice cream we have in the freezer. That seems like a victory at this point.  Yogurt and cereal has been  a godsend taking care of my cravings (and keeping me regular. lol)

Today is supposed to be a rest day. Though considering I didn't get much rest last night, I will take it today.  First Max gets sick, then Maggie. She is still sick, day 3. We are supposed to go to Phoenix on Friday. I am just worried to go out of town. I am hoping it ends with Maggie.
